The concept of the GOFLEX Trial Site Wunsiedel (Germany) for island operation with 100 % renewable energy will be presented at the VDI Wissensforum.
The concept of the GOFLEX Trial Site Wunsiedel (Germany) for island operation with 100 % renewable energy will be presented by Alexander von Jagwitz (B.A.U.M. Consult) and Benedikt Wagner (SWW Wunsiedel) at the Smart-Energy Event organized by the VDI Wissensforum, a German training specialist for engineers, technical specialists and managers, which is being supported by the association for German engineers. 
The focus of the overall event are prosumers in the area of market, technology, and regulative frameworks. It will be showcased that the recent development towards consumers producing their own energy (prosumers) enables new business areas for energy supplier. The GOFLEX presentation will focus on the cellular energy system functioning bottom-up. Based on the trial site in Wunsiedel, it will be highlighted how the municipal energy supplier (SWW Wunsiedel) is becoming the regional energy provider and how different types of prosumers (commercial, public and private) can be integrated in the regional energy system. Next to the automated trading of flexibilities, regulations, technology and business models as implications of island operation will be a topic of the presentation.
